National Spaghetti Day is an unofficial holiday which falls on January 4th and celebrates the dish which is commonly served with sauce, meatballs, and Parmesan cheese. The word ‘spaghetti’ is the plural form of an Italian word, ‘spaghetto’ meaning ‘thin string’ or ‘twine.’ Spaghetti arrived in the United States at the end of the nineteenth century and was served in Italian restaurants. Today, spaghetti is a popular dish in the United States and is enjoyed by millions of people every day! That’s Amore!
